Age 97, of Penn Hills, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 30, 2025. Wife of the late Dr. Samuel A. Connor, Sr.; mother of Robert Connor, Mary Alice (Gary) Taylor, Maggie (Denis) Deet, Becky Sue (Michael) Papurello, and the late Samuel A. Connor, Jr.; grandmother of Lauren (Josh Nohle) Taylor, Rebecca Taylor, Emily (Brian Weichert) Deet, Mary Susan (Aaron) Pickering, and Katelyn (Brian) Toth; great-grandmother of Cameron and Ellie Pickering. She is the last surviving of twelve children to the late Robert and Sarah Jackson. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Rebecca was a proud United States Navy Flight Nurse. She worked for many years at the Highland Drive VA as a nurse. She was very involved in the Penn Hills Service Association and the Saint Susanna Ladies of Charity for many years. Her most outstanding trait was that she loved and cared for everyone. Friends received at WILLIAM F. GROSS FUNERAL HOME, 11735 Frankstown Rd. (at Rodi Rd.), Penn Hills on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish St. Susanna Church, 200 Stotler Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15235 at 10 a.m.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.
Tree Planting Timeline
Orders placed in:
January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
