Peter J. Anderson

Warner - Peter Jaffrey Anderson passed away July 29 in Durango Colorado while on vacation with his family.
Born in Danvers, MA to parents, Austin Edward Anderson and Priscilla Donnell, Peter attended Northfield Mount Herman Prep School, graduated from Colgate University and completed his Masters in Education at Salem State University.
A lifelong educator, he taught Math and English at Andover Junior High in Massachusetts before becoming a Middle School Principal in Chapel Hill, NC and Woodstock, IL. In 2000, he returned to New England as High School Principal of Andover High School.
Peter met his wife, Patricia Prentice while both were teaching at Andover Junior High and they married in 1974. He is preceded by his wife, their three children, four grandchildren, and brother, Bruce Anderson.
After his 2009 retirement, he and Patty moved to Warner, NH to be closer to the grandchildren. In a close knit community, Peter served on multiple civic committees in service to Warner. Serving the Lord, he was active in churches everywhere he lived.
His lasting legacy can be found in the thousands of teachers, students and young people he influenced throughout the years. One of his many strengths was identifying talent in the people he hired and then shaping them into effective teams. A natural risk taker, he valued character over experience, believing that "I can teach you to teach, I can't teach you who you are."
His friends will remember his quick whit, his dry Yankee humor, and his loyalty. His family will remember a man of solid character who loved them dearly.
A Celebration of life will be held this Saturday, August 9 at 10 a.m. at CenterPoint Church, 20 N. State Street in Concord, NH.
In honor of Peter's service and heart for the Warner Area Food Pantry, donations can be made in his memory to Warner Connects NH P.O. Box 402

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
