Patsy Jean Stephens Wolfe

August 27, 1932 - March 28, 2025

Patsy Jean Stephens Wolfe

Patsy Jean Stephens Wolfe peacefully transitioned to the next life on March 28, 2025 in Baton Rouge.
Born August 27, 1932 and raised in Shreveport, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Donald Edward Wolfe, her parents Ethel Lee Reed Stephens and John Hershel Stephens Sr., brothers Steve Lee Stephens, William Robert Stephens, and John Herschel Stephens Jr.
Highlights of her life include graduating from Byrd High School and subsequent involvement with the alumni association and Byrd Babes; time as a Phi Mu and PKA Dream Girl at Louisiana Tech where she earned a bachelor's degree in education and later a master's degree in guidance and counseling.
She operated two businesses over the years, visited nearly every national park and traveled widely to all hemispheres of the world.
She was involved in numerous organizations including Lagniappe Ladies at Louisiana Tech and the Centenary Muses and PEO Chapter B in Shreveport.
Her true passion was children and teaching them to read as a first and second-grade teacher in Shreveport and New Orleans.
Always faithful and dedicated to her church, she was an active member of Central Christian Church and Broadmoor Methodist Church in Shreveport and Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge.
Most important to her always was her beloved family. She is survived by broken-hearted daughters Katheryn Wolfe Flournoy (Clay) and Laura Lee Wolfe (Philip Elliott); granddaughter Beatrix Rose Flournoy (Chris Clay), bonus granddaughter Sarah Falconer (Craig), great-granddaughter Lydia Noffke; and her brother Michael Reed Stephens (Anita), as well as numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Described by one of her many exceptional Home Instead CarePros as a mighty warrior at the end, she truly believed we should love one another and spent her life attempting to do just that. She was loved and will be missed.
Her family is eternally grateful for the many kind, loving employees and residents of The Claiborne Baton Rouge and for the incredible blessing that is Hospice of Baton Rouge, who guided the family through the end with their love, knowledge, and support.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday April 12, 2025 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3552 Morning Glory Ave., Baton Rouge. Visitation will be held 10-11 a.m. in the Trinity Common Room and a Celebration of Life reception will follow the funeral service.

Plant a tree: How does it work

When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.

An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.

After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.

Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

Tree Planting Timeline

Orders placed in:

January - May

Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.

June - December

Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
